Whatever a Man Sows… That Shall He Reap Gal 6:7

Most Christians don’t know that the bible reveals God’s eternal laws that govern our lives on this planet. Everything… is sowing & reaping. Nothing… just ‘happens’.

The Lord refers to everything as 'seeds' we 'sow' that produce a 'harvest' in our lives. For example, attitudes are seeds. In Luke 6:37 Jesus revealed, “judge not (seed) and you shall not be judged (harvest); condemn not (seed), and you shall not be condemned (harvest); forgive (seed), and you shall be forgiven (harvest)”. Notice that the resulting harvest of no judgment, condemnation or forgiveness lies in our sowing these ‘seeds’ first. No ‘seed’… no ‘harvest’. Again, nothing just ‘happens’. A farmer cannot expect a harvest until he has first planted seed. And, our harvest in life is directly related to the seeds we sow on a consistent basis.

Also notice Jesus’ use of ‘shall, shall, shall’… that means sowing & reaping is a law. It will work the same for everyone, every time, always. So, if I choose not to forgive I shall reap unforgiveness. However, if I follow the command to love, regardless of who is loving me, I shall reap love.

Verse 38 says, “Give (seed), and it shall… be given unto you… in good measure, pressed down, shaken together & running over shall men give (harvest) into your bosom”. Wow! God’s ways & the world’s system are at complete opposites. The world says we must save every penny to get rich while God says you must give in order to increase & multiply. Amazing.

So, what do you want in your life? Here’s your answer… give, or, sow, what you yourself want! You & I are surrounded by seeds to sow. Our talents & abilities, our smiles & attitudes, material possessions… our prayers for others… are all seeds at our disposal to sow.
Do you need a miracle in your life? Then, sow one... become one. I have found that when I have a need in my life it’s time to increase in my giving.

One time when we had run out of money we decided be a miracle to the needy. We bagged our rice & food, & went looking for the poor. They received their miracles that day and soon afterward, we did too. Do you need your credit card or house note payed off? Then, go find someone and help pay theirs off. Ask God how you can be a miracle to someone else. And, He shall remember yours!

A widow woman & her son were about to die during a famine when God’s prophet walked up asking her for some water. She told him that she was about to bake their last cake, eat it & die, and, he replied, “make me a cake first” (1Kings 17:12-15) Can you imagine what CNN or BBC News would have reported if they had been there? ‘Preacher steals poor widows’ last meal’! Well, she obeyed God’s word, sowed her cake first, and her miracle resulted.

When you got up this morning, your miracle was on God’s mind. Give Him something to work with first. Sow a seed, and, your harvest will follow.

Today, let’s make a change. Our destinies are in our hands. We can choose our harvest in life by the seeds we sow today. It’s a lifestyle. Planting new seeds shall produce a new harvest in our lives, and, a new destination.
