BLESSED… TO BE A BLESSING GEN 12:2
God made this promise to our father in the faith, Abraham, “ And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing”.God promised to bless Abraham … (for what purpose?)… so that he would be a blessing. Blessed... to be a blessing!
So,
what does this have to do with us? In Galataians 3:29, St Paul reveals, “ And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise”. We became Abraham's descendants thru believing in Jesus and have become his heirs... to all that God promised Abraham! Isn’t that something?
When Jesus died on the Cross in our place 2000 years ago … the bible says, “Christ hath (past tense) redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us"... Why?… “That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles (that's us) through Jesus Christ” Galatians 3:13,14 Jesus was cursed… to make us blessed! We have inherited the blessing of Abraham.

Why does God bless us? That we may be a blessing to others! That’s why He grants of gifts of the Holy Spirit, talents, promotions, financial increases, rankings in govt positions… to be… His blessing to others!
For example, let’s take a peak at God’s directives about what we should do with our labored incomes… ”working with his hands that which is good…(why?)… that he may give to him that needeth” see Ephesians 4:28.
And, what happens when we give…? “It shall be given unto you in good measure: pressed down, shaken together & running over shall men (plural) give into your bosom” luke 6:38 Wow!
Remember… what we sow… is what we reap! So let’s sow blessings today and expect God’s multiplied blessings in return!
